Useful details to include

You can share only what you are comfortable sharing. These prompts can help organize a practical accessibility question.

The place or routine

Tell us whether the question is about a home, room, doorway, bathroom, route, event, appointment, or public place.

The barrier

Name what is hard, unsafe, confusing, tiring, painful, too loud, too fast, too small, or difficult to reach.

The goal

Describe what would make the task easier: more independence, safer movement, clearer steps, less fatigue, or better communication.

A simple message template

Use or adapt this if a blank email feels hard to start.

I am working on access for [myself / my parent / my partner / my child / my friend]. The routine or place is [bathroom, doorway, appointment, bus route, kitchen task, event]. The hardest part is [barrier]. We have tried [what you tried]. We are looking for [ideas, resources, questions to ask, funding leads].

Communication access

Tell us what makes communication easier for you. It is fine to be direct.

  • Plain language, shorter messages, or step-by-step replies.
  • Email only, no phone calls, relay-friendly contact, or captioned calls if a conversation is needed.
  • Large-print attachments, screen-reader-friendly text, or no attachments.
  • Any budget, rental, space, language, sensory, or timing limits that shape the answer.
